Discourse On Method

About The Author

René Descartes (1596–1650) was a French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist, often referred to as the "Father of Modern Philosophy." Living during the early modern period, Descartes is best known for his work "Discourse on the Method," which introduced the famous dictum "Cogito, ergo sum" ("I think, therefore I am"). His contributions laid the groundwork for the development of modern Western philosophy and had a profound impact on the fields of mathematics and science, particularly through the Cartesian coordinate system.
